United Nations Program at the Avon Free Public Library

The Avon Free Public Library will host a program called The United Nations: Promise in a Time of Peril on Monday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Climate change, the unsettled Middle East, nuclear weapons proliferation, Russian involvement, financial volatility, and  terrorism  are all on our minds these days. Learn how the UN can bring hope to our conflicted world through global and humanitarian initiatives as well as through local leadership.

Join the panel discussion with Dr. Joseph Baxer, President of the United Nations Association of CT, Dr. Sergei Kambalov, former Secretariat of the United Nations, Dr. Robert J. Petrausch, Communications Professor at Iona College, and Terri Brennan, Nigeria, UNICEF Relations.
