Sporting Licenses are issued for a calendar year.  Current licensing fees are as follows:

  • HIP Permit -- $4.00
  • Duck Stamp -- $13.00
  • Pheasant Tags -- $28.00
  • Resident Fishing -- $28.00
  • Resident Hunting -- $19.00
  • Resident Fishing & Hunting -- $38.00
  • Resident Junior Firearms -- $11.00
  • Resident Trapping -- $34.00
  • Resident Junior Trapping -- $11.00
  • Resident Over 65 Lifetime -- Free   
  • Firearms Hunting Handicapped -- Free  (*see below)
  • Non-resident Firearms Hunting   -- $91.00
  • Non-resident Fishing -- $55.00
  • Non-resident Fishing (3 day) -- $22.00
  • Resident Marine Fishing -- $10.00
  • Non-resident Marine Fishing -- $15.00
  • Non-resident 3-Day Marine Fishing -- $8.00
  • Resident All Waters Fishing -- $32.00
  • Resident All Waters Fishing & Firearms -- $40.00
  • Resident All Waters & Archery -- $65.00
  • Non-resident All Waters Fishing -- $63.00

No hunting or trapping license will be issued to any person unless proof is provided that they held a resident license within the last five years, a certificate indicating successful completion of a Connecticut Conservation Education/Firearms Course or certificate showing completion of equivalent state course.  Revised 1-5-2007.

* A person who has permanently lost the use of a limb may be issued a hunting or trapping license free.  Verification of the disability signed by physician must be presented.
