Fisher Meadows Fields Expansion Project

Fisher Meadows Fields
Fisher Meadows Fields Expansion Project

As of July 11, 2018, Phase I, including the construction of the gravel parking lot and the storm water drainage systems, is substantially complete. Finish work on the parking lot, including the laying of screened millings, and the installation of a rain garden, as required by the project’s land use approvals, will be completed later this summer. Other plantings will be installed as weather permits.

Phase II work, including the construction of the athletic fields immediately to the west of the new parking lot is currently underway. Department of Public Works crews are currently spreading topsoil and completing fine grading work. We expect this work to continue through the summer months. Phase III, including the construction of the athletic fields located adjacent to the Avon Old Farms School property will immediately follow, weather permitting.

Though the completion of construction and the establishment of the grass cover is contingent upon weather and subject to change, it is the Town’s present goal to have playable fields in time for the spring 2019 season.
