Avon Library presents Memory Care Programs

The Avon Free Public Library is pleased to present a series of four monthly Memory Care programs beginning in January 2022. The first program Dementia 101 will be presented through Zoom on January 13 at 6:30 pm. Amina Weiland, Certified Dementia Practitioner and Resource Coordinator for the Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging, will define dementia, describe the most common forms of dementia including Alzheimer’s, and identify the warning signs.

Following programs include Care for the Caregivers (February 10) Healthy Eating for People Living with Dementia (March 24) and Activities for People Living with Dementia (April 21.) All programs will be presented online and registration is required. People living with dementia, caregivers, and anyone who wants to learn more about dementia are encouraged to attend.

This program is jointly sponsored by The Avon Free Public Library, The Avon Senior Center, The Bloomfield Public Library, and The Canton Public Library, with financial support from the Friends of the Avon Free Public Library.
