A Referendum for Old Farms Road Phase I (North/South Section) Project (State Project. No. L004-0001) will be held on Wednesday, December 14th from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road.
The question to be voted upon, and the ballot label, shall read as follows:
"Shall the Resolution Appropriating $5,459,458 Of Grant Funding For Costs Related To The Relocation And Reconstruction Of A Section Of Old Farms Road In The Town Of Avon" be approved? [YES/NO]"
Voters in favor of the resolution shall vote "YES" and those not in favor shall vote "NO."
Electors of the Town and qualified voters are entitled to vote. A qualified voter is a citizen of the United States of the age of eighteen years or more who, jointly or severally, was liable to the Town for taxes assessed against him on an assessment of not less then $1,000 on the last completed grand list of the Town or who would be so liable if not entitled to an exemption under subdivision (17), (19), (22), (25), or (26) of Section 12-81 of the General Statutes.
Applications for absentee ballots are available through Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in the office of the Town Clerk, 60 West Main Street in Avon, Connecticut between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or on the Town's website at www.avonct.gov/town-clerk. Absentee ballots will be distributed by the Town Clerk's Office beginning Wednesday, November 23, 2022 through December 13, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk's Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on December 13, 2022.
Said vote is being held pursuant to Section 10.3.3 of the Town Charter and Chapter 90 of the General Statutes.
