Avon Library’s Winter Music Series presents Frank Vasi and the Thimble Island Sax Quartet.

The Friends of the Avon Library are pleased to present the third concert of  their popular music series, “Sundays at Three” on Sunday, February 16 with a performance by Frank Vasi and the Thimble Island Sax Quartet.

Their repertoire covers a wide range of music from Baroque to Contemporary, including music from the Jazz, Broadway, Rock, and Popular idioms, as well as chamber music, symphonic, choral, and vocal traditions. They play with a fresh and vibrant style, all while respecting the standards and traditions of serious concert music.

As a group, they have an average of thirty years of professional musical experience. The founder, tenor saxophonist and composer Frank Vasi, writes all the arrangements for the group.

All are welcome to this special event in the Community Room of the Avon Free Public Library, 281 Country Club Road, Avon.  Free tickets will be available at 2:15 P.M. on the day of the performance with seating starting at 2:30 P.M.  The one-hour program begins at 3:00 P.M.  The Friends of the Library will be serving home-baked goods and there will be an opportunity to meet the artist following the performance.
