******Construction on Town Clerk’s Vault Expansion Project:******
Please be advised that effective August 25th, the rear entrance to Town Office Building #2 will be permanently closed due to the project to expand the Town Clerk’s vault. Visitors to the Town Clerk and Collector of Revenue will need to access Building #2 by the main entrance which is across from Building #1.
Please also note that while construction is underway, the sidewalk that runs behind Building #2 to the Police Department building will be closed. Please access the Police Department via the upper parking lot adjacent to Rt 44.
Please be aware while construction to the vault is underway, there may some limitations to access of the vault at certain times depending on the stage of the project.
The Town Clerk's office operates in accordance with the Connecticut General Statutes, Town Charter and Code of Ordinances. We are responsible for safekeeping Town records that include Land Records, Maps and Surveys, Vital Records (birth, death, marriage), Election and Referendum results, Military Discharges, Town Ordinances, Town Council meeting minutes, and Liquor Licenses. In addition, our office issues applicable certificates, permits and licenses that include Birth, Death, Marriage, Name Change, Trade Name, Dog Licenses, Sporting (hunting, fishing, trapping) and Dial-A-Ride tickets.
The Town Clerk provides administrative support to the Town Manager and Town Council, maintains the minutes of all Town Council meetings and posts meeting schedules for all Boards and Commissions.
