NUTRITION

Senior Cafe Community Lunch Program:
CRT (Community Renewal Team) sponsors a lunch program at the Avon Senior Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, offering a hot and nutritious meal.  A printed menu is available each month and reservations are required.  To make a reservation, please call Avon Senior Center the day before by 12:00 noon at 860-675-4355.  The cost is a $3.00 donation for persons over the age of 60 and $10.36 for persons 59 years of age and under.  The lunch program is open to all seniors in the town of Avon as well as surrounding towns.  Come and join us and make some new friends!

 
Meals on Wheels:
This is a non-profit community service provided to local residents through the McLean Home.  It is aimed at enabling ill, homebound, or disabled persons to maintain their independence in their own homes.  Further information is available through the McLean Home at (860) 658-3980.

 

 

HEALTH

Blood Pressure Clinic:

This is on a walk-in basis and is on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. This clinic is FREE compliments of the Farmington Valley Visiting Nurses Association.

 

CHOICES Medicare Counseling:

The Avon Senior Center offers Medicare Counseling!!  We are now able to link up with the Canton Senior Center and Farmington Senior Center and their CHOICES Medicare Counselor.  If you need Medicare Counseling, please feel free to call 860-693-5811 (Canton Senior Center) or 860-675-2490 (Farmington Senior Center).
