Collector of Revenue

View and Pay your bill

The Avon Office of Revenue  is responsible for billing and collecting municipal property taxes of real estate, personal property, motor vehicles, and sewer in accordance with Connecticut State Statutes.  Taxes are billed and collected semi-annually (July and January) on real estate and annually (July) on motor vehicles and personal property.  Supplemental motor vehicle tax bills are due January 1.  Residential sewer bills are due April 1 and October 1 and commercial sewer bills are due April 1.

If a motor vehicle was registered after October 1st  a bill will be generated on the motor vehicle supplemental list due January 1.

If you own property in town, it is your responsibility to get your tax bill.  If a financial institution holds escrow for your taxes they should have requested your bill directly from us but in the event that you receive it, please contact that institution with the information. If your property has been sold and you received a bill, please forward the bill to the new owner or contact the Revenue office.   Address changes regarding your real estate bill should be directed to the Assessor’s office.  Questions involving assessments, exemptions, or elderly benefits should also be directed to the Assessor’s office.

The mill rate for GrandList 2022, fiscal 2023/2024 are as follows:

Real Estate and Personal Property: 35.39

Motor Vehicle and Supplemental Motor Vehicle: 32.46
