Residential Sewer

The Residential sewer bills are due April 1 and October 1.  The bill you receive for the April installment will be broken down for each installment, the April 1 bill is for our base rate and the October 1 bill is for usage based on the previous year's CT Water reporting - if you are a CT Water customer.  For properties that were sold or are on a well, you are charged a flat rate.  The bill covers Jan 1 - Dec 31 of the current billed year. Residents MUST pay the April 1 bill in full by the last day to pay as indicated by on the bill, however residents may elect to pay the entire yearly bill or a portion of the October bill any time prior to the last day to pay of the October billing. 

To figure out monthly cost, please take the total amount billed for the year and divide by 12. For daily cost, please take the total amount billed and divide by 365.  It is recommend that attorney's offices adjust and pay the yearly sewer bills at closing. 

Sewer bills are collected in the same manner as taxes, however sewer is a utility and not a tax.

Your sewer bill may be paid online, however you must search by your parcel number.  Your parcel # is located at the upper right hand corner of your sewer bill.  If you cannot locate your sewer bill or parcel #, please call the Revenue office at 860-409-4306 and we will be happy to provide it to you over the phone.

Liens for unpaid sewer bills are filed in February of the following year.
