If you believe you are due a refund, Ct State Statute 12-129 requires the taxpayer to request for the refund in writing.  Please send an email it to hmonnerat@avonct.gov requesting the refund due on your account.  Refund requests are processed within 6-10 weeks depending on when they are received.

Please note: If any outstanding taxes become due during this refund process, these funds will be applied to the delinquent tax bills first and any remaining funds will be refunded to you.  

After three years (or six for veterans) the Town retains the funds if no request is received.
