ARPA Update - April 19, 2022

April 19, 2022 Update

At its April 7th meeting, the Town Council continued to discuss and receive additional information on ARPA proposals that have been submitted by Town and Board of Education staff and members of the public to date. A recording of the April 7th meeting can be found HERE. The ARPA discussion begins at 40:18.

As of this writing, a total of $1,400,000 million has been appropriated and an additional $1,000,000 is proposed in the Fiscal Year 2022/2023 capital budget for pavement management. It is anticipated that an additional five projects totaling $988,000 will be brought forward to the Town Council and Board of Finance for appropriation in May. A “Proposed Funding Plan” worksheet outlining these approved and proposed projects can be found HERE.

Assuming approval of all pending appropriations requests, the Town will have appropriated $3,388,000 of its $5.4 million ARPA allocation. A total of $2,012,000 will remain unobligated. Recommendations for the remainder of the funding are listed at the bottom of the Proposed Funding Plan worksheet. A pie chart illustrating the distribution of appropriated (approved), proposed (via FY23 budget and anticipated appropriations in May), and unallocated ARPA funding by functional area can be found below:
